That pushes the design toward plain files, stable naming, and explicit manifests rather than hidden state. The more the registry resembles a durable index of immutable artifacts, the easier it becomes to reason about promotion, rollback, and caching.

There is still room for richer tooling around it, but the storage model should stay understandable without specialized infrastructure.
